Our Ames Overshirt is cut here from our chunky handwoven plaid. A play on the first plaid pattern we developed for the grownup collection, paying homage to the antique Japanese textiles in our archive. With a complex weave inspired by the textiles of Anni Albers and vintage Pendleton Coats, we combined heavy 6’s yarns (the kind you’d find in the traditional big flannels of the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s) with chunky handspun yarns to create the beautiful uneven texture. This one will definitely keep you warm through the fall and winter. The yarns are all hand dyed with plant based indigo in the south of india, and then handwoven in Uttar Pradesh. Wash it cold with like colors and hang dry and it’ll last forever. The color will change over time - it just gets better and better.
